What is Botulinum Toxin?

Also known by brand names such as Bocouture, Vistabel, or Azzalure, depending on the manufacturer. It is a purified protein derived from a bacterium. Botulinum toxin works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles, which smooths out wrinkles—or makes them disappear entirely—and reduces sweating for an average duration of 2 to 6 months (results may vary individually).

It achieves this by blocking nerve activity in the muscles and sweat glands. The substance is injected directly into the muscle.

What is Filler?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin. In aesthetic treatments, fillers refer to a synthetically produced, cross-linked form of hyaluronic acid (non-animal origin). Depending on the brand, it is known as Juvederm, Profhilo, Restylane, or Belotero. Fillers bind water in the skin, providing volume and hydration, which helps improve the appearance of wrinkles and volume loss.

The filler is injected either with a fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula. Some products contain a local anesthetic (e.g., Lidocaine), making the treatment more comfortable. Depending on the product used and the treatment area, results typically last between 2 and 9 months, though this can vary based on individual factors.
